OUR TEAM

Our team consists of researchers and dune managers. We share complementary scientific expertise, which enables strong and fruitful collaboration.

Nadia Soudzilovskaia is a tenure-track assistant professor at the Institute of Environmental Sciences of Leiden university.

Nadia leads the research line aimed to understand how interactions between above and belowground biodiversity affect ecosystem functioning and provisioning of ecosystems services in a changing environment.

Martijn Bezemer is a professor at the Institute of Biology of Leiden University.

Martijn’s group examines how plants and insects aboveground are influenced by plant-soil interactions

Harrie van der Hagen is a Dune ecologist working for Dunea management team

Harrie conducts a PhD research on impacts of distinct management modes on provisioning of ecosystem services in dunes.

Marie Duhamel is a Postdoc researcher at the Institute of Biology of Leiden University.

Marie is interested in plant-soil interactions and more particularly in how plants can shape soil microbial community structure.

Riccardo Mancinelli is a PhD student at the Institute of Environmental Sciences of Leiden University

Riccardo is interested in impacts of distinct types of mycorrhizal fungi on ecosystem functioning.

Chenguang Gao is a PhD student at the Institute of Environmental Sciences of Leiden University

Chenguang examines how soil communities affect carbon and nutrient fluxes in dune ecosystems
